About Taylor

E. Taylor Stukes brings to his mediation practice a litigation background distinguished by its substantive breadth and technical command. With nearly two decades of experience, he specializes in the resolution of complex disputes ranging from international commerce and construction to personal injury and trade secrets.

Prior to establishing his mediation practice, Mr. Stukes served as Senior Counsel and Senior Director at Lowe’s Companies, Inc., a Fortune 50 home improvement retailer. In this role, he co-led the Commercial & Consumer Litigation Team, managing a diverse docket comprising high-volume tort claims, enterprise-critical regulatory enforcement actions, and complex commercial disputes. His practice was global: he successfully litigated and mediated disputes across the United States—from Alaska to Florida—and abroad.

Previously, Mr. Stukes was a business litigator at Moore & Van Allen and Maynard Nexsen (formerly Nexsen Pruet). His practice focused on high-stakes matters spanning the manufacturing, financial services, insurance, mining, construction, and healthcare sectors. His experience encompasses unfair and deceptive trade practices and business torts, environmental defense, construction claims, bankruptcy, trust and estates litigation, lease disputes, insurance coverage, mass tort defense, medical malpractice, and white-collar criminal defense.

Mr. Stukes earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, where he served on the Editorial Board of the North Carolina Law Review. He is a past member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Board of Directors and past Chair of the Young Lawyers Division. He previously served as an Elder, Deacon, and Chair of the Weekday School Board of Directors at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. He lives in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife and three sons.
